Trump’s (Second) First 100 Days

President Donald Trump is launching a media blitz this week to celebrate the first 100 days of his second term. He'll deliver a speech on Tuesday in Michigan, highlighting his administration's efforts on the southern border and inflation in the battleground state he flipped red in November. This will be his first major speech outside Washington since returning to office.

In his first three months in office, the 47th president has wielded power like few predecessors. Through numerous signed executive orders and bold policy announcements on social media, his actions have impacted every corner of American life. Supporters view this shock-and-awe approach as a clear demonstration of a president fulfilling promises and enacting long-awaited reforms. While the stock market during this time has been the worst since former President Richard Nixon’s second term, how are Americans viewing them?

As per an NBC poll, most Americans disapprove of how Trump has handled his first few months. However, Trump on Monday criticized "FAKE POLLS FROM FAKE NEWS ORGANIZATIONS," suggesting they should be "investigated for ELECTION FRAUD".

House Passes Bill on Revenge Porn, Intimate Images

The House voted 409-2 on Monday to pass the bipartisan ‘Take It Down’ Act, requiring online platforms to remove nonconsensual intimate imagery, including sexually explicit deepfakes and "revenge porn". The bill will now be sent to President Donald Trump, who has pledged to sign it into law.

Introduced in June 2024 by Republican Sen. Ted Cruz and Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar, the bill has passed the Senate twice and was approved nearly unanimously by the House Energy and Commerce Committee in April.

On March 3, First Lady Melania Trump hosted a roundtable at the White Houseto garner support for the bill. She also invited 15-year-old Elliston Berry, a deepfake abuse victim advocating for the bill's passage, to Trump’s March address to Congress, where he voiced his support for the measure.

Liberal Party Wins Canada Elections

Mark Carney led Canada’s Liberal Party to victory on Monday in a historic and deeply polarized election shaped by President Donald Trump’s tariffs and trade policies. See election win in charts.

The political newcomer secured a fourth consecutive term for the Liberals — a rare achievement in Canadian politics — while defeating the Conservative Party led by Pierre Poilievre, who lost his seat in Parliament. How it happened?

The Liberal Party retained key strongholds in the Toronto and Montreal regions, paving the way for Carney to remain prime minister.

In a victory speech on Tuesday morning, he said, "Who's ready to stand up for Canada with me? One of the responsibilities of government is to prepare for the worst, not the best. President Trump is trying to break us, so America can own us."
