Trump, El Salvador President Meet At White House

El Salvador President Nayib Bukele visited President Donald Trump at the White House on Monday, following an incident where the Trump administration mistakenly deported Maryland resident Kilmar Abrego Garcia to El Salvador due to an "administrative error". (Watch key moments)
In the meeting, Bukele stated that he could not release Garcia from the country's mega-prison. He said, “I don't have the power to return him to the United States. How could I smuggle a terrorist into the United States?” Further, he reiterated claims of the Trump administration calling Garcia a “terrorist” gang member. In the meantime, lawmakers were pushing to meet Bukele as a broader effort to seek Garcia’s return.
Bukele, who calls himself the "world's coolest dictator", has become a crucial ally in Trump’s contentious deportation efforts. During the meeting, Trump also said that he asked Bukele if El Salvador could build more prisons to house as many American criminals as possible, including U.S. citizens, praising the facilities as "great".
11 Minutes in Space for All-Female Flight
Six women, including journalist Gayle King and pop star Katy Perry, launched into space on Monday aboard a Blue Origin rocket, marking the company's first all-female crew. Meet the crew that made history.
According to Blue Origin, the entire trip lasted 10 minutes and 21 seconds. The crew soared nearly 66 miles above Earth, crossing the Kármán Line — the widely recognized boundary between the atmosphere and outer space — before making a smooth landing in the West Texas desert.
It’s the first time since Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova’s historic 1963 solo flight that an all-women team has made such a journey. This mission marks Blue Origin’s 11th flight since its debut in 2021, with 52 people flown into space so far.
Harvard Puts its Foot Down
After weeks of expressing a willingness to collaborate with the Donald Trump administration on addressing antisemitism, Harvard University President Alan Garber stepped forward Monday as the most prominent critic of the government's push to reform elite U.S. colleges.
Garber wrote on Harvard’s website, “It makes clear that the intention is not to work with us to address antisemitism in a cooperative and constructive manner. Although some of the demands outlined by the government are aimed at combating antisemitism, the majority represent direct governmental regulation of the ‘intellectual conditions’ at Harvard.” Is it learning from Columbia’s mistake?
The response was immediate: President Trump’s administration announced it would freeze $2.2 billion in multi-year grants and $60 million in contracts allocated to Harvard University.
Is the decision ‘of Momentous Significance’?

Weigh In
Mark Zuckerberg’s blockbuster acquisitions of Instagram and WhatsApp are back under the microscope. In a major antitrust trial, the US government argued that the deals were less about growth and more about crushing competition before it had a chance. Zuckerberg, the first to testify, denied the claims. But since the case hinges on what might have happened had Meta not made those purchases, it’s turned into a legal time-travel exercise. What if Instagram had gone to Twitter? What if WhatsApp had landed at Google? Would rival apps have survived if Facebook hadn’t swallowed them up? There’s no clear answer — just clashing visions of tech history that never came to be.
